In the FY09 Title IID Competitive Grant, mathematics teachers and students in the competitive grant will use technology tools and digital learning resources that enable formative assessment to inform differentiation of both teaching and learning, resulting in increased student achievement in 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
The UGA ETC is helping its T3 Grant awarded schools learn to use their new technology through a two-year professional development program. The purpose of this course is to provide a space for resources connected to professional development as well as for collaboration and sharing among the grant teachers and schools.
Georgia Assessment of Performance on School Standards The GAPSS Analysis: Closing the Gap process provides detailed information for a school on the progress towards full implementation of the School Keys: Unlocking Excellence through the Georgia School Standards. The review process is mandated for schools in needs improvement at year six. Any school in Georgia can request a school review from the Division of School and Leader Quality of the Georgia Department of Education or the local Region Educational Support Agency (RESA). Schools can also utilize the rubric to analyze progress on the School Keys.
The Teaching American History Grant program is a discretionary grant program funded under Title II-C, Subpart 4 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The goal of the program is to support programs that raise student achievement by improving teachers' knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of American history.
Northeast GA RESA and the University of Georgia Educational Technology Center (ETC) are partnering to offer professional learning to support your work in the 2009-2010 school year. The focus for the year-long program, “Technology to Support RTI and Struggling Learners,” will take place monthly at the ETC on College Station Road, Athens, GA. All programs will be taught by Northeast GA RESA and ETC personnel. The Media Specialist Professional Learning Series will meet once a month at the ETC beginning in August.
The purpose of this course is to provide Georgia's eighth grade physical science teachers with modules for teaching the following GPS Frameworks and their corresponding tasks: Science with Toys, Energy in our Life, Light and Sound Show, Food and Cooking, and Sports.
